LeslieAnn Butler
Using color and layers of texture, LeslieAnn offers the viewer freedom to interpret her work with inner vision. She strives to bring to light the reality that lives deep within, beyond what one can see with outer sight.

The creative process does not end with the physicality of the painting, but is continued and enhanced through the eyes of each beholder into the creation of thoughts and emotions it brings out in them; this is a magic dance of connection.

Often LeslieAnn will paint over a canvas many times, creating layers and textures of richness and depth. A recurring symbol, a swath of glossy red, represents joy, power, energy and love; a recurring theme of “openings” symbolizes overcoming the individual’s feelings of separation with a spiritual metamorphosis, or awakening.

The paintings of award-winning artist LeslieAnn Butler appear in private, public and corporate collections throughout the country and in Europe. Her paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions at galleries and cultural centers, including the Portland Art Museum, the Museum of Art in Grants Pass and the Art Museum of Coos Bay, Oregon; the Lawrence Galleries in Portland, Gleneden/Salishan and Sheridan, Oregon; the Desert Art Source in Palm Desert, CA, the Moore Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado, the National Pen & Brush Society in New York City, and now at William’s Gallery in Port Townsend, Washington.
