| Please join us the first Saturday evening
of every month when the art galleries in town extend their
usual business hours from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The lights stay
on and the music plays as the gallery's fill with locals,
as well as visitors to meet the featured artist's and view
their work.
Gallery Walks are a favorite here in Port Townsend. Occuring
the first Saturday of every month, galleries and venues in
the downtown waterfront district show off the work of local
artists. Informal and enticing, the Gallery Walks encourage
exploring the many nooks and crannies of the town's historic
center. The walks are sponsored by the many galleries and
venues, and a consortium of artists. A truly unique happening
and all you do is show up downtown and start walking!
We here at William's Gallery want to thank each and every
one of you for shopping with us during the year! To all of
you a very prosperous New Year!

This month's Featured Artist
LeslieAnn
Butler
Using color and layers of texture, LeslieAnn offers the viewer freedom
to interpret her work with inner vision. She strives to bring to
light the reality that lives deep within, beyond what one can see
with outer sight.
The creative process does not end with the physicality of the painting,
but is continued and enhanced through the eyes of each beholder
into the creation of thoughts and emotions it brings out in them;
this is a magic dance of connection.
Often LeslieAnn will paint over a canvas many times, creating layers
and textures of richness and depth. A recurring symbol, a swath
of glossy red, represents joy, power, energy and love; a recurring
theme of “openings” symbolizes overcoming the individual’s
feelings of separation with a spiritual metamorphosis, or awakening.
The paintings of award-winning artist LeslieAnn Butler appear in
private, public and corporate collections throughout the country
and in Europe. Her paintings have been featured in solo and group
exhibitions at galleries and cultural centers, including the Portland
Art Museum, the Museum of Art in Grants Pass and the Art Museum
of Coos Bay, Oregon; the Lawrence Galleries in Portland, Gleneden/Salishan
and Sheridan, Oregon; the Desert Art Source in Palm Desert, CA,
the Moore Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado, the National Pen &
Brush Society in New York City, and now at William’s Gallery
in Port Townsend, Washington.
