My paintings explore the amalgamations of mood
and landscape; for me the two are interchangeable.
When I paint, I rely on memory to convey the mystery of hidden
feelings. Like emotions, my landscapes are organic, not structural.
I use layer after layer of encaustic wax to push the extremes
of texture and motion, resulting in sculptural surfaces that
are smooth as glass or rough with tooth.
My subjects can be described in organic language: sinuous, flame-like,
and visceral.
